Philmont is a BSA High Adventure base in Northwestern New Mexico. The adventures there are backpacking treks of 50-120 miles undertaken by groups of 8-12. As a high adventure activity, the BSA restricts participation to Scouts of age 14 and above. This is the same age guideline for ALL High Adventure activities at any Scout High Adventure base.
For this reason, the troop's Philmont Trek in summer 2020 will be open only to our members age 14 and above. A Philmont Trek has been an aspiration of these Scouts for a long time. Every Scout in Troop 728B will have an opportunity to go on a Philmont Trek when they reach the right age.
Departure date will be June 11, return June 24-25. Total individual cost per person is $1025 + transportation.
